2021 was an eventful year for the Drupal community. In April, we celebrated Drupal's 20th anniversary and participated in a month-long Drupal Fest. We also launched Discover Drupal and other initiatives to make Drupal more inclusive. We marked the end of life of Drupal 8 and the growth of Drupal 9 adoption with it.

We at Evolving Web had plenty to write about in 2021. From technical tutorials about Drupal 9 to articles about accessibility and inclusion, we aimed to deliver relevant information and useful insights to the developers, content strategists, designers, marketers, and technologists who follow us.

Recently, my colleague Kevin Porras and I did a presentation at Drupal Camp Costa Rica. It was a great event in which we had a wonderful time discussing plugins, services, events and events subscribers. Drupal 8 reaches end of life in November 2021. With the deadline fast approaching, we're getting questions from the Drupal community about how this change will affect them. Here's a quick Q&A based on the most frequently asked questions about it.

Why is Drupal 8 end of life before Drupal 7?

It's much easier to upgrade from Drupal 8 to 9 than Drupal 7 to 9. For this reason, Drupal 7 end of life has been extended to November 2022 to give Drupal 7 site owners more time to upgrade.
