Overview

Evolving Web and Mogul Global partnered with EU Peers, a project funded by the European Union with the goal of promoting sustainability of home renovations across nine priority countries and beyond. The client needed to build their main website that would serve as a hub for the stakeholders to recruit members, collaborate, organize, and share knowledge. Within 6 months of launching the site, EU Peers successfully amassed a diverse membership of hundreds of organizations, each contributing to the energy renovation movement within the EU.

About the Client

EU Peers is a pan-European initiative uniting organizations on a mission to promote energy-efficient renovation of residential properties and expand the application of Integrated Home Renovation Services (IHRS) for homeowners. The ultimate goal is to strengthen the IHRS movement and set up a sustainable trajectory to achieving climate neutrality by 2050. By making the IHRS more accessible and operationalized, EU Peers is transforming energy renovation into a feasible and attractive option for homeowners across the continent.

EU Peers fosters an expansive Community of Practice that unites IHRS providers—such as One-Stop-Shops—and other allied supporters across Europe. This concerted approach leverages the collective expertise of its members, positioning EU Peers as a driving force in the residential energy renovation sector.

Goals

The goal of EU Peers is to foster collaboration among the IHRS providers and supporters, and to help reach long-term sustainability objectives. They needed a website that would make it easy for IHRS providers to find comprehensive information and thought leadership about the IHRS movement and the benefits of sustainable energy renovation. It also aimed to motivate and inspire members to join the EU Peers’ Community of Practice and stay active as contributors.

Challenge

The challenge of the project was to present information clearly, while supporting stakeholders operating under different regulations and facing unique challenges. Additionally, the platform had to meet stringent data security and privacy standards, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance, due to the sensitive nature of the data and the EU funding context.

Solutions

To support the growth of the EU Peers Community of Practice, we developed a dynamic website that members can use to quickly access essential resources, events, and membership features.

The website’s modern aesthetic reflects EU Peers' commitment to sustainability, using vibrant imagery and subtle animations to engage users without overwhelming them. Interactive elements like maps and member profiles foster collaboration, while secure data practices reassure users about privacy.

Our work included:

  • Building an advanced digital platform on Webflow CMS, integrating visual components with intuitive navigation to provide members with a seamless user journey, making interaction fluid and information readily accessible.
  • Designing a website in line with EU Peers' dedication to sustainability: with a clean and modern visual language that reflects a vision for environmental progress.
  • Introducing multimedia for user engagement, guiding users to key content and providing a dynamic experience without excessive distractions.
  • Incorporating interactive elements, such as an embedded Google Map and profiles of member organizations (providers and allies), to visualize the widespread influence of the Community across Europe and foster a spirit of collaboration.
  • Prioritizing security standards, ensuring that all elements of data collection and processing were compliant with GDPR (given EU Peers' status as an EU-funded initiative).
  • Including a dedicated section for upcoming events, workshops, and summits, incentivizing members to actively engage and contribute to the Community's activities.

Results

Within six months of the website's launch, EU Peers successfully attracted over a hundred member organizations across Europe, fostering a thriving Community of Practice. This rapid growth highlights the website's efficacy in stimulating interest and engagement in the IHRS movement, serving as a crucial tool for momentum-building.

The Community has become highly active, with members regularly engaging in collaboration, sharing best practices and knowledge, and supporting one another in efforts to advance energy renovation and sustainability across the EU. Member spotlights, dynamic maps, and other interactive elements have cultivated a sense of collective purpose and connection within the Community. This sense of collaboration is fundamental to maintaining high levels of engagement and ensuring the long-term success of the EU Peers project.
